Payroll Giving is one of the best ways to support us.
Your regular gift will provide the kind of reliable and regular income that allows us to plan for the future and continue our vital work.
Payroll Giving is an HM Revenue and Customs scheme that allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give a regular, tax-free donation to the Mental Health Foundation. It is one of the most tax-efficient ways to support our work. Each payday, an amount of your choice is donated to the Mental Health Foundation via your payroll department. Your donations are given before tax, so if you pledge a gift of £10 a month, it will actually only cost you £8 at the standard tax rate of 20%.
The tax benefit you receive is by the amount of tax you pay, so if you are paying the higher rate of tax (40%) tax a pledge of £10 a month will cost you £6, or if you pay 45% tax, it will cost you £4.50.
Once you've set up a regular gift through your payroll, you can rest safely knowing that your donation is collected using one of the most cost-effective and tax-efficient methods possible. This allows your support of the Mental Health Foundation to go even further.
The system is flexible with the ability to increase your donation or opt in or out of regular updates, allowing you full control of your giving.
Your payroll donation will help provide regular, reliable income for the Mental Health Foundation and our work, allowing us to plan and budget for the future.
Payroll Giving is a great way for companies to enhance their corporate social responsibility and their commitment to the causes that their employees care about. It is quick and easy to set up and administer with virtually no setup costs.
Companies can also increase the value of their employees' contributions through matched giving, whereby they match an employee's donation by a chosen percentage. Not only does this inspire staff to give more, but it also boosts morale within the workplace and raises the company’s ethical profile.
Ask your payroll department whether or not your company offers a Payroll Giving scheme. If they do, you will need to complete a form, usually available from your Payroll Department or Personnel. Your employer will then pass the form on to a Payroll Giving Agency who will distribute your gift to us.
If your company is not registered with a Payroll Giving scheme, please either complete our online form or fill out our payroll giving postal form and return it to us at:
Payroll Giving, Mental Health Foundation, Studio 2, 197 Long Lane, London, SE1 4PD.
Whether you are an employee thinking about donating in this way or you are an employer who wants more information, visit the Payroll Giving Centre website or [email protected] .
This is just one of the many ways you can support our work.
