With a Learning Partner approach, we work with partners to find out the impact they are having on mental health.
Often our partners don’t have mental health as their primary focus but would like to understand the impact they are having on the well-being agenda.
We have worked with many different partners to help them work out the difference they are making. These partners include:
- Sport Wales
- Gwynedd Youth Services
- The Police
- Monmouthshire County Council
- Tata Steel

Case Study
In conjunction with Public Health Wales, we have worked with a large police force in Wales, helping them implement their mental health strategy.
Using a well-being tool, we helped them assess the activities of two of their departments in line with this tool.
Together, we asked questions like:
- How much control do individuals, or the community have over their life and decisions?
- What sort of resilience is being built through police activities?
- Is the police work improving participation and inclusion?
- Or contributing to the wider determinants of health?
At the end of our assessment (which takes 8 to 12 months), we will write a report tailored to their work so that they can feel confident of their impact on mental health in their activities.
