Arts and mental health in Wales

We worked on a platform for arts and mental health in Wales, while working with organisations as Learning Partners to explore how the arts can be beneficial to them and their impact on mental health.

Our flagship event in Wales was the Green Ribbon Arts Festival (GRAF), which was first staged in 2020 and 2021 as an online event during the pandemic. The festival was funded by the Arts Council of Wales and The Baring Foundation.

GRAF showcased examples of high-quality work in the arts and mental health field in Wales and provided spaces for important conversations and networking. GRAF offered opportunities for artists to demonstrate what matters to them, and their take on mental health, along with promoting work from arts organisations that are innovative and engaging with diverse audiences.

GRAF showed how the arts could improve understanding of mental health and prevent and alleviate mental ill-health.

We also developed work on men’s mental health in a large industrial setting in South Wales, and with a Further Education college, working with staff and students.
