We wanted to find out how the generation of people currently aged 55 to 65 can protect their mental health and wellbeing as they get older.
The challenge of the two-year Age Well project was to:
- better understand the factors that increase the risk of mental illnesses as people get older
- identify ways in which people can be helped to protect their mental health
- determine the types of support and advice that will best meet their needs and preferences if they experience mental illness.
At the end of the Age Well project we produced a review, to help individuals, groups, policy-makers, service providers and business understand what could benefit, improve and protect the mental health and wellbeing of the baby boomer 1946-1955 generation.
The Age Well project was funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
