Age Well

We wanted to find out how the generation of people currently aged 55 to 65 can protect their mental health and wellbeing as they get older.

The challenge of the two-year Age Well project was to:

  • better understand the factors that increase the risk of mental illnesses as people get older
  • identify ways in which people can be helped to protect their mental health
  • determine the types of support and advice that will best meet their needs and preferences if they experience mental illness.

At the end of the Age Well project we produced a review, to help individuals, groups, policy-makers, service providers and business understand what could benefit, improve and protect the mental health and wellbeing of the baby boomer 1946-1955 generation.

The Age Well project was funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
