Date: Sat 20th Apr 2024 to Mon 20th Oct 2025
Machu Picchu is one of the most iconic sights in South America and the culmination of the magnificent Inca Trail trek through the Peruvian Andes. Follow this breathtakingly beautiful route through valleys and high passes scattered with fascinating Inca ruins.
Trekking on Inca-paved paths and steps, the route takes you up through lush cloud forest to the demanding Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200 m). Continually climbing up or dropping down, the trek is steep at times, and the altitude adds to the challenge. The trek ends as you finally reach the Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu, where your first magical glimpse provides an unforgettable reward for your efforts.
Each year, the Peruvian Government releases a limited number of trekking permits for the upcoming 12 months. Demand is very high so these permits sell out extremely quickly. Permits for the following year's departures are released in October, so you will need to book your place early for this challenge to avoid disappointment.
