After six years of ground-breaking workplace mental health facilitation and training, the board of Mental Health Foundation’s workplace subsidiary, Mental Health at Work, has decided to cease operations at the end of December 2023.
Since 2017, our community interest company, Mental Health at Work, has provided training and education to more than 200 companies to help reduce mental health stigma and develop skills in workplaces to support staff mental health and wellbeing. In this time, more than 37,000 people have directly benefitted including 10,000 managers who have used what they have learned to positively impact the working lives of colleagues and employees.
As the shareholder, we're incredibly proud of the difference that Mental Health at Work has made in hundreds of workplaces across the UK and internationally. The team has sought to understand the specific needs and challenges faced by businesses and develop a tailored response to that context. Thanks to their expertise and dedication, hundreds of workplaces are now better equipped to support the mental health and wellbeing of their staff.
It was with great sadness that the Mental Health at Work board made the decision to cease trading. This was made following a long period of trying to find different paths to a sustainable future within an increasingly challenging economic climate.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to all the team members at Mental Health at Work for their inspiring commitment and contribution.
Our thanks also go to all our clients and associates who have been such an important part of our journey in supporting healthier and happier workplaces. We know the impact of this work will continue to be felt for years to come.
Our priority now is to ensure an orderly closure and support all those directly affected.
