Date: Sat 8th Mar to Tue 7th Oct 2025
At 8,848 m in altitude (29,029 ft), Mount Everest is the world's highest mountain and one of the most extraordinary sights on Earth. You can experience this mythical mountain's magic by taking a breath-taking trek to Base Camp in Nepal.
The trek starts in Lukla, the ‘Gateway to Everest’, winding up through beautiful valleys, dense forests and across glacial rivers via the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Surrounded by some of the most famous peaks of the Himalayas, you continue up to Gorakshep before reaching South Base Camp (5,380 m), one of the most famous stops in all mountaineering.
Energy permitting, you will also be given the opportunity to rise early the following morning to trek up to the summit of Kala Patar (5,545 m) for sunrise views over Everest – it would be hard not to be overcome by the incredible sense of achievement as you stare in awe at the spectacular surroundings.
Please note that this is designed to be a challenge, and it is vital that you train sufficiently for it. Inadequate training is likely to have an impact not just on your chances of completing the challenge but on enjoying it too.
